Senior Recognition Celebration

On Wednesday, May 12th, we celebrated 12 seniors who have been part of our Learning Resources Program.
As difficult as this year has been, especially for our students, we were happy to hold an outdoor luncheon on the patio outside the library.  Students, faculty, and administrators came together to enjoy delicious sushi, cucumber salad, pinwheel sandwiches, and petit four pastries made by our very own chefs.

After lunch, we gathered in the main library for our presentations – starting with our guest speaker, Jonathan Mooney, followed by a PowerPoint of pictures of our students going back to first grade.  Students also got to hear memories of them from their teachers and were presented with a College Care Package which included a wide array of things needed in college, including Raman Noodles and Life Savers. You will see from the pictures below; students could not wait to read all of their teachers’ comments printed on beautiful stationery. We were inspired by two testimonials from two of our graduates, Daniela Loverde and Mila Seikaly.  Before closing the program, three of our Honors Seminar students received a recognition medal for the outstanding work that they completed during their year-long research project. Our three awardees are:  Daniela Loverde, Aleczander Day, and Mila Seikaly.  Mrs. Ebrahimi ended the celebration with a talk on the subject of “Identity” inspired by one of her 8th-grade students, Preston,  who recently submitted an essay for the oratorical contest on how COVID changed his identity.
