New Lower and Middle School Directors

Miami Country Day Appoints Two New Divisional Leaders
After two comprehensive and competitive nation-wide searches, during which MCDS attracted a varied and talented group of candidates, President and Head of School, Mariandl Hufford, was pleased to announce the appointment of Shana Lindsey as Lower School Director, and Nima Rouhanifard as Middle School Director. Both leaders will begin their tenure at Country Day on July 1, 2021. 

Ms. Shana Lindsey is currently the Lower School Director and Director of Academics, K-8, at the Chapin School in Princeton, NJ.  She is described as collaborative and innovative, and has spearheaded many of the school’s new initiatives, most recently chairing  the school’s Instructional Program Task Force throughout the pandemic. Shana started her career as a teacher before transitioning to a series of administrative positions that have strengthened her leadership skills and solidified her commitment to ensuring curriculum content and essential understandings that celebrate diversity, equity and inclusion and support belonging in our communities. Shana holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Carroll University, and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University. 

Mr. Nima Rouhanifard comes to us from Avenues: The World School, where he currently serves as Director of Student Life and Learning for their Virtual Campus, grades 6 through 12. Nima is described by those who know him well as an exceptional relationship builder and a decisive problem solver, particularly through times of change. Nima holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and Spanish Literature from Vanderbilt University, a master’s degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard University and is currently pursuing his Ed. D. in School Leadership and Administration at the University of Pennsylvania. Nima’s history of academic distinction, real life, tangible knowledge and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion honors the core values of Miami Country Day School and will ensure the seamless transition of exceptional middle school education on our campus.
