The Exploration and Appreciation of Art in Our Community
Our Arts Department at Miami Country Day School is thrilled to present our cultural outreach initiative: the John Davies Cultural Arts Series. This series provides the Miami community with free access to visiting artists, performers and thought leaders in our cutting edge Center for the Arts. When we visualized the many ways this would contribute to the enrichment of our school community and Miami at large, it seemed fitting to name the series for the leader who had the foresight and commitment to make the Center for the Arts a reality, Dr. John Davies.
Dr. Davies has long been an advocate of the Arts and its centrality to the mission of Miami Country Day School. He is an artist in his own right and his Robert Indiana-inspired sculpture (pictured to the left) welcomes visitors at they enter our campus. Our cultural arts series honors Dr. Davies and enriches our learning community in ways that were not possible before his leadership. We are grateful to the Board, administration, faculty, staff, parents and students who played a part in elevating our community and are making it possible to celebrate the arts for many years to come.
